devblog #4

This week I spent some time to finish up the rig, getting it to something workable. I may come back and tweak things, but I want to make sure to divide my time evenly to meet my goals. I threw together a couple animations as well and installed the compatibility plugin for Live2D in ren’py.

I ran into a minor hiccup, it wasn’t originally working. I figured it out, though. It only works for version 4 of Live2D currently, but I can export in that format just fine, and the file has to match the model name.

I did that early in the week, then was able to get started on the tutorial by __ess__ Ren’Py Tutorials.

It works great, though I only have the setup and finding matches. Python functions are super similar to Javascript so I’m generally able to follow along.

Here is a video demo of what I have so far.

Win of the Week; There’s not much documentation besides the official one for Ren’Py’s Live2D stuff, so it was a lot of trial and error figuring it out. It worked out, though.

Stress: 6/10?, Satisfaction: 8/10.

I’ll continue working on the game.
